This article includes some budget-friendly destinations that can help you make the most of summer without spending much money.

June is almost here, and summer is almost upon us. While some people have already laid out their plans and booked summer trips, others have not. If you are one of those who haven’t, don’t worry. You can still find great deals if you want to book a trip for the summer.

Normally, by late May or early June, cheap flights for the summer are hard to find. But luckily for you, things are different this year.

Katy Nastro, a travel expert at Going, explained that getting an affordable ticket for July would normally be as hard as searching for a diamond in a pile of rocks. However, now she believes there are still great deals available due to a string of different reasons.

According to Nastro, some people are not booking flights yet because they are worried about economic uncertainty. Other reasons include the fact that airlines have added more flights to the schedule and fuel prices have dropped a bit.

So, if you are trying to plan a last-minute summer trip, Katy Nastro says the most important thing is to stay flexible. If you can be flexible about where you want to travel to and when you want to make the trip, you will have more choices and a better chance at a deal. For example, if you have not booked anything yet, you can wait till August. There are a lot of options for that month.

So, what is the cheapest tourist destination? If you are looking for cheap places to visit this summer, travel experts at Going suggest five cities with lower-than-normal prices. Let’s check them out.

5 Budget-Friendly Destinations to Book Now

The following are the five cheapest destinations to book now:

    1. Calgary, Alberta

Here is what the travel experts at Going are saying about Calgary: Fewer people are flying within Canada right now. And according to economics, if all things remain equal, the lower the demand, the lower the price. This means plane ticket prices are decreasing for places like Calgary. If you want to visit Calgary, maybe to see the beautiful Lake Louise, now is a good time to look for a good deal.

On average, round-trip tickets to Calgary start at about $258. However, some places have even cheaper deals. As cheap as $142 for a round ticket. Usually, the average price is around $521, but prices can change. This means you should keep an eye on flight alerts. You might be able to grab a good deal if prices drop again this summer.

    2. São Paulo, Brazil

According to travel experts at Going, if you want to take a vacation somewhere that is not too hot or sticky, São Paulo in Brazil is a great option. It is in the southern half of the world. This means the weather is more pleasant at certain times of the year.

For people traveling from big cities, flights to São Paulo can cost around $355 on average. If you are coming from a smaller city, the price can be a bit higher, about $699.

Most trips to São Paulo cost between $600 and $1000 overall. But here is the bonus: The U.S. dollar is worth more than Brazil’s currency (Reais). So, your money can go further there. This makes it easier to plan a fun trip without having to spend too much.

    3. Dublin, Ireland

Travel experts at Going say that while Dublin might not be the cheapest city in Europe, it is also not the most expensive. It is a great place to start if you want to see Ireland’s beautiful green countryside. This year, flights to Dublin are cheaper than usual. From most big cities, you can still find summer flights for around $300 to $400, and the average round-trip ticket costs about $511. Normally, flights can go up to $954, or more. However, now, with more nonstop flights from cities like Cleveland, Indianapolis, and Nashville, these budget-friendly prices are not just lucky occurrences. They are happening because of more routes that have been added.

    4. San José del Cabo, Mexico

According to experts at Going, some people stay away from Mexico in the summer because it can get really hot and humid. However, San José del Cabo, which is by the Pacific Ocean, is a nice spot even on the hottest days. This is because the ocean keeps it cool and refreshing.

On average, round-trip flights to places like San José del Cabo usually cost around $640. However, right now, you can get deals as low as $354. It can even get cheaper sometimes. You can get deals as low as $292 for a round-trip flight from Austin, Texas. That means you will be saving about 45% off the regular price. Also, if you live on the East Coast of the United States, you can fly directly to Cabo. This makes it super easy. Another bonus is that this area does not really get hurricanes in July and August. This means it is a safe and fun spot for a beach vacation.

    5. New England

Experts at Going say that New England, which is in the Northeast U.S., is another budget travel idea. It is a great place to visit in the summer. It is not just about big cities like Boston, you can also enjoy small beaches in places like Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine. Right now, round-trip flights to different New England cities like Bangor, Boston, and Hartford are going for about $149. This price is much cheaper than the usual price of about $351. That is almost 60% off. Most people head to the beach, but a great tip is to also check out the mountains and lakes in places like Vermont and New Hampshire. They are not just for skiing in the winter; you can also have a lot of fun there in the summer.

    In Summary

If you are planning a summer vacation, these five affordable vacation locations are awesome because they are fun and not too crowded. They also have cheaper flight deals right now. Each spot has something special.
