Some earth-moving equipment was recently moved into the celebrity Californian estate that Jennifer Aniston now calls home.
Aerial images of the property have revealed that the actress is trying to effect some major remodeling to the mansion’s facilities. The pictures in question reveal excavations and a deep trench close to the main building.
A Work of Art In Its Formative Stage
The deep gash in the earth on Aniston’s property has all the vibes of a swimming pool taking shape. The whole affair still looks like a mess, but a celebrity having a pool installed in their yard is not a far-fetched idea.
Perhaps Aniston could have built that feature into the mansion during its initial construction.
Passed Down a Line of Celebrities
However, anyone familiar with the history of Aniston’s mansion knows that it only came into her possession in 2022. She bought the massive mansion from Oprah Winfrey in exchange for $14.8 million.
During the talk show star’s occupancy of the mansion, she had a staircase with beautiful greenery and ornamental plants in the backyard of the main building.
For Taste or Investment?
The green staircase detail indicates Oprah Winfrey’s preference for nature. However, a swimming pool seems like a deal-breaker for Aniston.
However, real estate brokers are considering a different perspective. The new pool installation may be an investment. Why? Because if and when Aniston eventually puts the mansion up for sale, the new feature may increase the property’s asking price significantly.

Celebrities Prefer Varying Accents on Their Properties
In the aerial shot that revealed the ongoing construction in Aniston’s backyard, the clearing for the new pool saved some of the greenery. Yes, the stairs are no longer lush green grass, but some trees can be seen still standing around the construction area.
A not-so-big yellow crane can also be seen close to the marked-out rectangular hole.
Give Me a Swimming Pool!
Besides the earth that has been dislodged in the backyard of Aniston’s mansion, the rest of the property remains intact, and the white paint on the buildings glistens in the bright Californian daylight.
There are no signs that the backyard porch, which is a bit close to the materializing swimming pool, would be adjusted.
The Net Worth of Your Neighbors and the Price of Your House
A short stroll through the estate where Aniston’s mansion is located would immediately explain why she had to cough up so much before buying the property.
In that same locale, celebrities like Prince Harry, Megan Markle, Rob Lowe, Ellen DeGeneres, and Arianna Grande have houses. Aniston’s mansion in the estate originally belonged to a hedge fund manager, Fred Shuman.
Transition of Ownership of the Tuscan Farmhouse
Fred Shuman and his wife Stephanie conceived the original idea for the “Tuscan farmhouse.” In 2021, the Shumans sold the property to Oprah for $10.5 million.
A plan of the Shuman original design will reveal that the mansion’s perimeter stretched farther than what Aniston presently occupies.

Multiple Real Estate Purchases By Most Celebrities Is Not a Sign of Financial Illiteracy
The disparity between what Oprah got from the Shumans and what she passed on to Aniston exists because of property fragmentation between those two deals.
In August of the same year that Oprah bought the Tuscan Farmhouse, she sold a portion of it—two cottages—to her personal trainer, Bob Greene, a property manager. Oprah sold the cottages for $2.3 million.
A House Worth Its Price
Despite the sale of the cottages, Aniston’s mansion still occupies an expansive lot and affords some comfy amenities. The property spans 4,320 square feet and has three-and-a-half bathrooms alongside four bedrooms.
The mansion has a boulevard-type driveway protected by a gate, lined with oak trees. There’s also a wide court for parking vehicles and multiple terraces on the buildings.
A Big-time Actress With a Big-time Real Estate Portfolio
Aniston, the former star of the Friends TV series and multiple award winner has another mansion in her real estate portfolio in Bel-Air, California.
The now 55-year-old star actress has been married twice, to Brad Pitt (2000-2005) and Justin Theroux (2015-2017). Aniston and Theroux’s wedding took place in the actress’ Bel-Air mansion. However, the couple divorced in 2018, affirming they appreciate each other better as friends.
Aniston’s Bel-Air Mansion
Aniston gave a rare exposé of her Bel-Air home when she granted Architectural Digest an interview in 2018 and gave a tour of the mansion.
Aniston’s Bel-Air mansion is way bigger than the Tuscan farmhouse. It has 8,500 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and a pool. The architecture of the Bel-Air mansion is historic, as it was designed by world-renowned architect A. Quincy Jones in 1956.
