We blinked and could hardly recognize him for who he was. When Jeff Bezos launched Amazon some 30 years ago, he did it for his love of books and drove around an old model Honda for many years.
Now that he is one of the wealthiest persons in the world, Bezos is starting to look the part. Anyone who has seen him lately will easily notice his new Lex Luthor physique.

Amazon is no longer the cubicle startup that sells books online. It is now a behemoth technology company with several sister businesses hanging from its branches.
However, Bezos refuses to remain stagnant as his business empire and wealth take a new shape. A quick glance at his old pictures shows that the first difference that stands out is how fit the soon-to-be 60-year-old billionaire now looks.
All About the Grind, Little for the Looks
It is no longer news that Bezos is also engaged with the beautiful businesswoman and TV personality Lauren Sanchez; it is more like a sideshow to his role. During the tech boom of the 1990s, it was commonplace to see Bezos running Amazon in a pair of rimmed glasses and his oversized and often rolled-up shirts.
No offense to the old Bezos, as that seemed to be the predominant fashion statement of that period.
Early Beginnings are Difficult to Keep Rock Steady
In the late 90s, Bezos married MacKenzie Scott, his first wife, with whom he raised four kids: three sons of their own and an adopted daughter from China. However, his family and startup, then known as Cadabra, had their early beginnings in Seattle.
Those geek-ie years are long behind Bezos, as he’s a noticeably transformed man with all the trappings of wealth.
Lex Luther Would Be Jealous of the Bezos Transformation
At a 2017 conference, Bezos was reported to have turned up looking all pumped and easily mistakeable for Vin Diesel. He looked nothing like the lanky fellow who started Cadabra in the 90s.
Attendees at the conference reported that his bulging biceps were testaments that he had been working out. He also started rocking shaved hair, a probable lash back at his balding head.

There are many speculations that Bezos’ physical transformation began around the time Amazon acquired Whole Foods. It was suggested that he had an epiphany about how important his health is to his overall well-being.
So, Bezos admitted to reinventing his approach to diet and exercise, becoming more intentional about how he feeds and maintains his body.
Bezos Worked for His New Look
Exercise suddenly became a serious business for Bezos when he hired Wes Okerson as his personal trainer. Now, in celebrity training circles, Okerson is a household name. He has worked with the likes of Isla Fisher, Gerard Butler, and even Tom Cruise, assisting them in getting in shape for movie roles.
So, Okerson guided Bezos in getting more out of his workouts with sustainable regimens.
Transformations Are Often From the Inside Out
One of the trademark attributes of workout routines that Okerson often recommends is that his clients go paddle boarding, rowing, and hill running. He makes clients push themselves to the very limits of their physical capacity.
Sanchez was once quoted calling Bezos a “monster.” This is in light of the new workout routines he has taken on, most of which she could never dream of matching up to.
A Casual Acqauintanceship Budded Into Full-Blown Romance
Bezos and Sanchez became acquaintances in 2016, but it is widely believed that they did not start a relationship until 2018. At that time, Bezos was still married to his first wife, MacKenzie.
In the years that followed, the extramarital affair probably placed the last straw on the back of Bezos’ first marriage, and divorce papers were served.
Going All In and Cutting Your Losses
Around the period of the divorce, Bezos owned up to executives at Amazon, saying, “Just to set the record straight, I did have a relationship with this woman. But the story is completely wrong and out of order. MacKenzie and I have had good, healthy adult conversations about it.”
The adult discussion alluded to in that statement probably means the couple was working to arrive at a compromise.

In the statement, Bezos said, “She (MacKenzie) is fine. The kids are fine. The media is having a field day. All of this is very distracting, so thank you for being focused on the business.”
That was obviously a way of telling his business executives not to let the personal crisis in his life at the time affect the company’s projectiles.
A Sturdy Personality in the Face of Life Challenges
Bezos and MacKenzie officially went their separate ways in April 2019, and the couple did arrive at an expensive compromise. MacKenzie walked away from her marriage with 25% of Amazon’s stock in her kitty. That was a wealth throve of about $35 billion at the time.
Divorces don’t get more expensive than that! Sanchez and Bezos are now engaged and often appear in public together.
