This July, McDonald’s is reintroducing the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese as part of their Summer sales deal.
The official announcement of the favorite menu item went public on July 8. The statement read, “Everyone’s favorite sandwich is back!” It becomes a double deal because the Quarter Pounder is not the only new thing this July; the Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder is also returning to the menu.
Another Big and Surprising Announcement
McDonald’s is good at keeping its customers spellbound. Its approach to the announcement probably left people salivating in anticipation.
The latest update on the fast food chain’s corporate announcement page reads, “Spotted: a delicious new addition to McDonald’s menu. Welcome to your only source for updates on the new menu items, returning fan favorites, and limited-time offers to make their way to restaurants across the U.S.”
The Dynamism of McDonald’s Menu is Commendable
The Smoky BLT burger first appeared on McDonald’s menu in 2022. Later that year, the company PR-rebranded that menu item to accommodate the introduction of a complementary product, OREO Fudge McFlurry.
So, by November 2022, the Smoky BLT had changed names, and two new items replaced it on the menu list: “bacon meets chocolate” and “smokey meets sweet.”
A Special Treat for Summer Vacation
During your summer vacation, those juicy sandwiches may not be enough to satisfy your palates. So, McDonald’s was thoughtful enough to add on the Banana Split McFlurry. Imagine sunbathing at a beach lounge while enjoying the creamy blend of vanilla and actual fruity KIT KAT wafer bars.
If that’s you, then summer vacation has taken your taste buds to the peak of sensory pleasure.

Limited Time Offerings Should Be Exploited While They Last
So, on your next visit to the Golden Arches, look out for those new and delicious offerings on the chain’s menu list. The three menu items are, however, limited-time offers (LTO). The delicious treats will be on the menu as long as McDonald’s decides, so trying them out before they get delisted again would be great.
Are you wondering when you’ll be able to order a Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder, Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder, or the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry? The offer kicked off on July 10.
A Healthy Dessert Mix Comes to Town
For a while, Oreos have been the kid on the block in the dessert mix. McDonald’s wants to take its customers on a foodie adventure by substituting the chocolatey Oreo with diced bananas, strawberries, and crispy chocolate wafers.
Now, who said McDonald’s does not serve healthy meals? In addition to the recent $5 deals that have endeared many Golden Arches customers, these new LOTs can be said to be the real deal!
The Making of the American BLTs
The two LOT burgers are tweaked versions of an existing menu item: the OG Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Some delicious features were added to transform it into the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese.
Juicy tomatoes, onions, traditional pickles, crispy bacon, crunchy lettuce, smoky and creamy sauce, ketchup, onions, and mustard all go into the mix, and voila, you have a Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese.
The Added Extra That Changes the Story for the Better
To transform a Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese into a Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder, the Golden Arches kitchen staff simply needs to add an extra quarter-pound patty.
The menu item is always “seasoned to perfection” and has been reported to treat the palates to an enjoyable taste of what McDonald’s calls a “lingering smokiness.”
The New Menu Items Have Canadian Cousins
There is a menu item sold year-round at Canadian McDonald’s outlets called the Quarter Pounder BLT. Anyone who has had a bite of this burger, probably during a vacation or business visit to our upper North neighbors, will agree that it is very similar to the US’s BLT burgers.
The only difference between those two variants is that the US BLTs are time-constrained and won’t linger on the menu forever.

So, enjoy the BLT burgers while they last. Go to the closest drive-in and find a nice shady area to enjoy your delicious purchase, alone or with friends.
Speculators have suggested that McDonald’s reintroduction of the BLT burgers in the US is a ploy to nip negative sentiments in the bud. Customers have not been happy lately with the inflation of prices and menu items in the past few months.
National Inflation Has Made Dining Out a Luxury
Like McDonald’s, most fast food chains are trying to win back their customers’ allegiance. The steady rise in the cost of eating out has recently driven most people to opt for cheaper options, like preparing their own meals at home.
McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski acknowledged this reality in February when he said, “Eating at home has become more affordable.”
‘Introduce Beat-Down Prices, Not New Menu items,’ Says Customers
So, the reaction of online pundits to McDonald’s new announcement is unsurprising. Netizens have continued to affirm that McDonald’s is better off making efforts to bring down meal prices as much as possible.
So, it is not surprising that some people think it laughable that they opt to appease their customers with new menu items, which some still struggle to afford.
