The republicans finances is causing financial worries. However, despite the ongoing worries, the Republican National Committee (RNC) has reported favourable financial updates. As per its recent filing with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the GOP governing body concluded with a higher cash reserve in January compared to the start of the month. This increase led to a boost from $8,009,756.84 to $8,711,097.22 in the reserve.

During the timeframe, the Republican National Committee amassed $11,588,008.07 from donations and many other sources. They also spent $10,886,667.69. This report was submitted on Tuesday and made public on Wednesday.

It comes amidst the worries about the financial state of the GOP governing body. The reported $8 million at the start of the month marks the party’s least productive fundraising year since 2013.

According to FEC disclosures, the Republican National Committee revealed its lowest year-end bank balance since 2016 in November.  The $9.96 million available for spending indicated a significant decrease from the $21.35 million reported after Donald Trump’s presidential victory in 2016.

Due to the party’s string of electoral losses since 2020, resignation calls have been made.  Calls have been made for the resignation of the Republican National Committee’s Chair, Ronna McDaniel. These calls have been intensifying, leading to increased concerns within the Republican ranks.

Earlier in the month, The New York Times initially referenced some unnamed sources that indicated that the Republican informed Trump of her intention to step down. She said she was going to resign after the South Carolina primary later this month. CNN and CBS News, among other news outlets, also covered the report. However, Ronna McDaniel has yet to confirm it herself.

“At the moment, there have been no alterations. The decision will be made after the South Carolina primary.” This was the statement made by  RNC spokesperson Keith Schipper during an interview.

If her resignation does occur, her replacement is prepared to step in. Recently, ex-president Donald Trump publicly supported Lara Trump, the spouse of his son, Eric Trump. He supports her attempts at assuming the position of RNC co-chair. Lara Trump had previously acted as an advisor during his 2020 presidential campaign.

Trump praised Lara’s exceptional communication skills and commitment to the principles of MAGA. He expressed confidence in her ability to embrace the challenge. In his words, Trump said, “Lara is an extremely talented communicator. She is also dedicated to all that MAGA stands for. She has told me she would like to accept this challenge, and she would be great!”

Lara Trump herself made a statement in an interview. She said if she were elected to the position of co-chair, she would prioritise allocating the entirety of the RNC’s funds towards securing her father-in-law’s reelection in November.

Trump also gave his endorsement to Michael Whatley. Michael is the current chair of the North Carolina Republican Party. Donald Trump endorsed him to become the next chairman of the RNC.
